The Zend Framework is focused on building more secure, reliable, and modern Web 2.0 applications and web services, and consuming widely available APIs from leading vendors like Google, Amazon, Yahoo!, Flickr, as well as API providers and cataloguers like StrikeIron and ProgrammableWeb.
At IE we've been testing the Zend framework for the past 8 months and evaluating its suitability for use in a commercial production environment.
It has performed really well, above our expectations, and has given us some clear, measurable benefits including:
- -Reduced development time
- -Quicker Web 2.0 and AJAX development
- -Easier provision and consumption of web services
- -Better quality and reduced time testing cycles
- -Reduced maintenance and bug fix cycles
We've already got one large scale production web app running along with several smaller production projects but from the end of April all our new production work will be within the framework.
If you would like to know how you could benefit from an improved robust development framework then give IE a call.
