On Thursday 2 July IE will be running the next in our series of IE Workshops – this time focusing on how charities and campaigning organisations can have their voices heard within UK schools by creating compelling, curriculum-focused, interactive classroom resources.
When leading charities like World Vision and Jeans for Genes want to create cutting edge interactive whiteboard or online resources it's IE's Interactive Team that they turn to.
In the last 3 years IE has carried the campaign messages of national and international charities to hundreds of thousands of UK school children, addressing issues as diverse as renewables, the mystery of human origins, who owns water, ideas of wealth in the world's poorest countries, genetic mutation, infant mortality and biodiversity.

The reason for the workshop is that IE keeps hearing from clients who are struggling to harness the potential impact of high quality interactive learning resources - and others who have grasped the potential of the medium but who are struggling to know how to turn their message into an engaging learning experience.
Since 2001 IE's Interactive Team has developed a passion for high quality, innovative interactive learning and a reputation for industry-leading excellence - from online games to CD/DVD-ROMs, from intuitive user interfaces to Interactive Whiteboard Resources, from simple quizzes to interactive questionnaires.
As with all things IE, the Workshop will be characterised by plain English, pragmatic advice. The style will be very conversational, informal and interactive. All attendees will be helped to make a significant and manageable step forward from their current level of expertise.
We'll be covering the following...
- Why go interactive?
- The changing face of learning - new and emerging technologies.
- How can I utilise these new tools to engage with educators, school children, stakeholders, supporters and donors?
- Tying into the National Curriculum.
- Classic mistakes and how to avoid them.
- What will success look like?
- Where should I start?
We'll look together at best practice and delve deeper through a few case studies. These won't be restricted to IE's work - we'd love to include attendees' experiments and experiences too.
In the afternoon we'll revisit those big questions and help you build the beginnings of an Interactive Education Strategy, against which you can measure plans going forward - and we'll look at a few very practical next steps.
There is no charge for the day, which is located at IE's Birmingham studios and includes coffee and a light lunch. Places are limited and available by reservation only. Please note that IE's last 2 Workshops were massively over-subscribed.
More detail and timings to follow closer to the day.
Here's a couple of quotes from recent attendees:

"I thought the day was excellent - it really helped with my strategic planning (good timing too). The size of the workshop made it feel very personable which helped us to get more out of the day."
