The University of the First Age creates enjoyable learning challenges that enrich lives, increasing aspiration and achievement for young people aged 5 - 25.
IE loves to work with values-driven organisations with an educational remit working with children and young people. We targetted UFA with a personal ‘ode’ and after an initial meeting UFA commissioned a new website and a suite of marketing work.
UFA ’s website had grown organically over several years, gradually eroding any clear information architecture. A vast catalogue of resources was largely hidden and sales through their online shop were poor. UFA needed to raise the profile of its work beyond their traditional LEA base and to develop messaging around 3 core areas ofservice. Whilst the core logo had become a well established mark, UFA lacked clear guidelines to ensure consistency across all promotional communications collatteral.
To design and build an easily maintainable website with a content management system and flexible e-commerce functionality. Navigation and site structure to be based on a user need analysis followed by a visual design phase. To co-create key marketing messages, ideas about how UFA might use them and what UFA might expect to achieve within budget. Ultimately to increase UFA ’s income, increase grant programmes and reduce dependence on DofE Grants.
“And as all this started with your ode to us... I know we had our ups and downs, but we really are excited. Our new website works just great, we think it’s rather wicked.” Linda Gregory, Chief Executive, UFA
