Solihull NHS Care Trust is a community of over 1,500 health and social care professionals. It is essentially a one stop shop for health and social care for the people of Solihull.
Solihull NHS Care Trust’s Senior Communications Specialist sat on a panel that IE had previously presented to. He was impressed with IE Health’s presentation and when Solihull NHS Care Trust (SNHS) subsequently invited tenders for their new website IE Health was amongst the 5 agencies approached and was appointed.
SNHS’s website was dated and difficult to manage, having no content management system. The information architecture and navigation lacked clarity. Users easily became lost, particularly if arriving via a search engine result. The site made no use of recent developments in social media.

To design and brand a new SNHS website to express the unique character of the local voice of the NHS in Solihull. To build an ‘award winning, innovative and nationally leading’ website. To create an extendable system capable of providing a back end to future websites and intranets and one which can respond and adapt to the needs of different users. To avoid prohibitively expensive CMS license costs. To introduce basic social media functionality in Phase 1 and to extend in future phases.
Phase 1: 19 weeks from commission to public launch.
