How wonderful to see the TES giving top level exposure to the use of banned technologies in the classroom. And I’m not talking about tasers, CS gas or pepper sprays as implements for controlling undesirable behaviour in the classroom.
LTS (Learning and Teaching Scotland) are at it again - promoting what many of us already believe, that computers can be good for your mental agility. Mums and dads take note - your children may well be on Messenger, Facebook, Bebo, YouTube, Habbo, all at the same time, multi-tasking in a multi-multi world(!) but they might also be improving their maths, especially if they’re simultaneously doing some extra brain games.
Yet again another challenge for education game designers - keeping them engaging yet simple enough to be used at the same time as half a dozen different other social networking tools. For a useful summary of the LTS report, check out the BBC coverage.
