IE Scoops Gold, Silver & Bronze at Prestigious European Branding Awards

The IE team is delighted to announce winning Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the 2014 Transform Awards – Europe’s only dedicated celebration of excellence in re-branding, repositioning and brand transformation.

We were delighted to round off an impressive list of nominations, beating international competition from the likes of Lloyds Bank and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, to win Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

University of Warwick’s reinvigorated careers service brand was named overall winner of the Best Visual Identity category with Gold Award with University of Birmingham closely behind gaining the Silver Award. University of Birmingham also gained a further bronze in the Best Use of Visual Property category.

IE’s Managing Director Ollie Leggett commented:
“To be nominated three times in such prestigious international awards is a tremendous accolade – to come away with Gold, Silver and Bronze is just amazing. It’s testament to IE's deep education sector expertise and the dedication and craftsmanship of our talented team. 2014 marks our 20th anniversary and we are delighted to be adding yet more awards to the trophy cabinet in such a special year.”

Our gold award came in the Best Visual Identity category for our work invigorating University of Warwick’s campaign brand ‘My Warwick Journey’ - designing a striking visual identity to engage with students both on and off campus.

Siobhan Bennett, Employability Manager at University of Warwick commented:
“What an amazing night, we are delighted to win a gold award at these international awards. We worked hard with IE and were delighted with the impact of the My Warwick Journey campaign. IE crafted an invigorating visual identity, and brought the campaign to life through an arresting range of collateral designed to maximise visibility on and off campus. IE proved to be an experienced pair of hands throughout the project, crafting innovative, unique solutions, tailoring their work to the students at the University of Warwick and delivering dramatic impacts. We are thrilled that this work has received recognition at such prestigious European branding awards amongst such a strong field.”

IE also took home silver in the same category for our work with University of Birmingham’s Careers Network, and rounded off a fantastic night by winning a Best Use of Visual Property bronze award with University of Birmingham’s Careers Network.

As part of our work with Birmingham, we renamed, rebranded and created a compelling visual identity at Careers Network, tailoring messages to various stakeholder groups, and increasing student engagement by 289%.

Both IE and Careers Network are delighted to have won awards across two categories, Eluned Jones, Director of Student Employability at University of Birmingham said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have won in two categories at these prestigious branding awards. IE were a fantastic partner agency. Throughout the project, they listened to our stakeholders, responded to our needs and guided us to an arresting visual identity and newly named careers service. The new identity has had a dramatic impact on our student engagement, and this award goes along-way to recognising the hard work put in by IE and my team.”

Dubbed as a celebration of rebranding, repositioning and brand transformation, the Transform Awards recognise branding projects launched across Europe, the Middle East and even as far afield as North Africa. The list of past winners of Transform Awards includes work delivered for companies including, Cancer Research UK, Lotus and HSBC.

These awards come at the start of an important year, as we go into our 20th year of delivering award winning bespoke and innovative brand and digital solutions.

The awards were presented at a gala dinner on Tuesday 1st April at The Brewery in London, hosted by Alastair Campbell. The ceremony included a packed event with attendees from companies shortlisted from across Europe. All entries were judged by a panel of experienced in-house practitioners, branding experts and journalists from companies including Barclaycard, Bauer Media and FIFA.

Liz Foggitt, publishing and events manager from Communicate magazine said:
“Your brand is your reputation so it’s important to get it right. Tonight has proven winners of the Transform Awards are leading the way in brand development and communications. Congratulations to IE Design on winning three awards – you are setting the standard of what brand communications should be.”
